Harimau Garuda Badminton Tournament
The Harimau Garuda Badminton tournament marked a significant milestone as it was a collaboration between our organization and PPIQ representing the Indonesian youth community. The journey began with a meeting in Lusail where both teams gathered to align on the core purpose of the event. During this initial discussion we expressed our shared vision of using sports to bring together our two communities and create a platform for meaningful cultural exchange. This was followed by a second planning session focused on the logistical details where we carefully evaluated potential venues and finalized thecompetitive format to ensure the tournament would be both professional and engaging forthe youth.
The event itself was a success and began with an official opening ceremony attended by both the Malaysian and Indonesian ambassadors whose presence showed the importance of this event. Beyond the high energy matches on the court, the atmosphere was bolstered by several food vendors stationed outside the venue which allowed spectators to enjoy the food while they watched the games. We were incredibly proud to see the community turn out in such high numbers as the event attracted a massive crowd of over four hundred supporter’s. This showed how much sports can bring together two cultures to work together, and we hope to make more events where we work together with different youth group in Qatar.
